Aflatoun Extends its Flame to Linamon Central School


           The MSU IIT- National Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MSU-IIT NMPC) launched the first Aflatoun Program of Buru-un branch with its partner school, Linamon Central School in Linamon, Lanao del Norte on September 24, 2014.The launching was hosted by MSU-IIT NMPC Buru-un Branch Membership Development Officer (MDO) Mr. Nimrod M. Tagolgol and branch Accounting Clerk Ms. Elsie Boysillo, with the assistance from its Head Office Marketing Department Mr. Aldrin Loyola and Mr. Hallmark Mojica. The program aims to inspire children to increase financial capability and instill social values that can help them overcome the economic challenges in the future. 

Mr. Aldrin Loyola, MSU-IIT NMPC Aflatoun National Trainer, led the discussion and explained the basics rights and responsibilities of children. He inspired the participants to practice saving and spending in right way, and encouraged them to open deposit accounts.

The launching also conducted an activity enabling pupils to actively participate in a drawing session, such as in requesting them to draw their own version of the Aflatoun image. Children were inspired about the discussion on the Aflatoun program.

The teachers of the said school, headed by the school principal, Mrs. Teresita Montecalvo, was very supportive on the program. Mrs. Montecalvo said that Aflatoun was indeed beneficial not only for the school children but also for the parents.

Considering the enthusiasm of the pupils and teachers on the launching of the said activity, the staff of MSU-IIT NMPC reassured to conduct more Aflatoun activities to enforce and contribute to the over-all growth and sustainability of the program. The program was attended by 350 participants from the said school.
