MSU-IIT NMPC Joins Iligan City in Celebrating Its 64th

ILIGAN CITY, PHILIPPINES–MSU-IIT National Multi-Purpose Cooperative joins Iligan City in celebrating its 64th Charter Day most notably known as Araw ng Iligan last June 16, 2014 with the banner “Iligan Kagahapon, Karon ug ang Kaugmaon”.

Photo courtesy: Irma BozaThe event was initiated by a Civic Military Parade that started from the Iligan National High School (ICNHS) grounds and passing through the main streets of the city before ending up at Iligan City Freedom Park where a commemorative program was held. Participants of the event came from various local and national government agencies and private and non-government organizations. Our cooperative is among such institutions that have always supported the city in its activities: laying down the goal of reaching out to various people in almost all occasions – whether it is a small gathering to a large event participated by different sectors of the social life.

Among the activities in the event are the awarding of recognized and outstanding taxpayers and the giving of plaque of recognition to Philippine Veterans who have accomplished their heroic deeds during the war-time. The coop, on the other hand, made its own gig as the Marketing team put up a display center of the coop’s products and services and catering inquiries from the gathering crowd.

With the “Iligan: Yesterday, Today and for the Future” as the words of promise for the day, Mayor Celso G. Regencia quoted and referred to Yesterday as the veteran soldiers who defended the homeland and fought for the resistance in the liberation of Iligan City, Today as the government and its people and Future as the young generations who will take care of the city... As the city hopes for the promise it had for itself, MSU-IIT NMPC too, in its own ways, strives for the best of its members and for the future.

The commemoration ceremony ended with the awarding of the Chalk Walk Art Contest and the Floral Arrangement sponsored by the Iligan City Triple Day Celebration Executive Management Board and the Iligan City League of Barangay Councillors. The coop also makes most of its exit by further inviting people to become a part of it.
